Club History:
The Altrusa Club of Baton Rouge, LA was organized in 1941 and incorporated in 1970.
Club Meetings:
The club meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. for dinner and a business meeting.
Service Projects:
- "Bags of Hope" ongoing project to provide homeless children with a tote bag
containing personal hygienne items
- "A Book of Their Own" ongoing project with Merrydale Elementary that the
club gives a book to each child in the school at Christmas
- "Most Improved Reader" and $25 cash award to the child in each grade who has
improved their reading skills during the school year. Given during Awards
Week at the end of school

- White Elephant Sale
- Annual Garage Sale
- Corporate Donations
